Award-winning American mezzo-soprano Lisa Marie Rogali has been praised for her “strong, warm voice,” “spontaneity” onstage, and “vibrant physicality.” A compelling singing actress with notable versatility, Rogali is increasingly recognized for performances that move fluently across opera, musical theatre, and concert repertoire.

Highlights of Rogali’s 2026–2027 season include Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with San Diego Opera, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Kentucky Opera, the title role in Carmen with Opera Montana, and the Major in a touring production of Kurt Weill’s Happy End with The Glimmerglass Festival. On the concert stage, she makes her debut as mezzo-soprano soloist in Verdi’s Requiem with the Louisville Orchestra and appears at the Bard Music Festival.

During the 2025–2026 season, Rogali returned to Virginia Opera for her role debut as Angelina in La Cenerentola and to Detroit Opera as the Offred Double in The Handmaid’s Tale. She also brought her acclaimed portrayal of Carmen to San Diego Opera, Toledo Opera, and Gulfshore Opera. Parterre Box praised her “vibrant physicality” and “strong, warm voice at both the top and bottom of the range.” Additional concert engagements included Mozart’s Requiem with the Asheville Symphony, Handel’s Messiah with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and Broadway Through the Ages with the New Jersey Festival Orchestra.
In the 2024–2025 season, Rogali made her debut in the title role of Carmen with both Virginia Opera and Florentine Opera, a portrayal hailed by The Virginian-Pilot as “not to be missed, a bang-up performance.” She returned to Sarasota Opera’s Winter Festival as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, earning praise from Opera News as “a Rossini star in the making,” and later brought the role to Central City Opera. She also appeared with the South Florida Symphony as alto soloist in Messiah and as Paquette in a semi-staged concert production of Candide.

Rogali joined Detroit Opera’s Resident Artist Program during the 2023–2024 season, performing Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and the Dog/Woodpecker in The Cunning Little Vixen. She made her role debut as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with North Carolina Opera and appeared as Der Trommler in Ullmann’s Der Kaiser von Atlantis with Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings. That season, she was named a finalist in the Dallas Opera National Vocal Competition and received the Jonathan Pell People’s Choice Award. On the concert stage, she made her Carnegie Hall debut as alto soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass with MidAmerica Productions, and in the summer performed the title role in David Herzberg’s The Rose Elf with OrpheusPDX.

In the 2022–2023 season, Rogali created the roles of Princess, Lucy, and Fancy Doll #1 in the world premiere of Edward Tulane with Minnesota Opera. She went on to perform Hansel in Hansel and Gretel with Opera Birmingham, Stéphano in Roméo et Juliette and Paquette in Candide with The Glimmerglass Festival, the alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Naples Philharmonic, and Mozart’s Requiem with The Masterwork Chorus. Of her Stéphano, Opera News singled her out as a “live-wire mezzo [who] aced Stéphano’s tricky chanson.”

Rogali has received numerous honors, including Third Place in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, Eastern Region; Second Place in the Opera at Florham Competition; Fourth Place in the Giulio Gari International Vocal Competition; the Munday Encouragement Grant from the Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition; and Third Prize in the Pasadena Vocal Competition. Her versatility also extends into crossover repertoire: she earned Second Place in the American Traditions Vocal Competition and received a Special Award from the Lotte Lenya Competition.

She has participated in several distinguished young artist programs, including those of Detroit Opera, Minnesota Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and Opera Saratoga. Rogali holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University.
