Baritone Geonho Lee is a member of Houston Grand Opera’s Butler Studio, having joined the program in the 2025–26 season. His assignments at HGO in the 2026–27 season include Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Papageno in the Family Day performance of The Magic Flute, as well as covering Valentin in Faust, Papageno in The Magic Flute, and Faninal in Der Rosenkavalier. In the 2025–26 season, he appeared at HGO as Marco in Gianni Schicchi, Peter in Hänsel und Gretel, and Slim in Of Mice and Men.

Lee joined the Butler Studio after winning both First Prize and the Audience Choice Award at Houston Grand Opera’s Concert of Arias competition. He was also a semifinalist in the prestigious Operalia competition.

A graduate of Seoul National University, Lee holds a master’s degree in Opera/Music Theater from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding. During his residency at the August Everding Academy, he developed a diverse stage repertoire through performances in numerous operas, including Zanaida, Die Katze, die eigene Wege ging, and Chora. He began his stage career while studying at Seoul National University, appearing as Betto di Signa in Gianni Schicchi and performing the four villains in Les contes d’Hoffmann.
