Conductor Celia Llácer continues a summer of high-level professional development after being selected as one of four participants in the Ammodo Conducting Masterclass with Iván Fischer and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Held June 23–25 in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, the program gave Llácer the opportunity to lead one of the world’s foremost orchestras while receiving coaching from Fischer, whom she has described as one of her role models.
She has now joined the Verbier Festival’s 2026 conducting mentorship in Switzerland, one of four conductors selected for this year’s program. The mentorship forms part of the Festival’s Academy and Orchestra Training programs, which welcome 227 musicians from 43 countries.
“I hope to learn everything there is to learn from him,” Llácer said ahead of the Amsterdam masterclass, adding that she especially admired Fischer’s ability to “let the music speak.” — Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
